The Roeper MS Boys Track and Field Team ran in the prestigious 34th annual Brighton Relays on Thursday night. Nine schools and some of the most renown middle school track and field programs in the state were present at the Scranton Middle School (Brighton, MI) facility. The boys competed in the 800m Relay, the Distance Medley, the Sprint Medley, the 1600m Relay, and the 400m relay, as well as the 800m run. Facing teams with 100 plus athletes and incredible pools of talent to pull from the boys ultimately did well. The highlight of the meet was the remarkable 800 meter performance by Roeper’s William Hoover who ran an unofficial 2:22 and took first place, winning a gold medal, and grabbing 10 points for Roeper. The official results of the meet will be sent via mail and will be available next week. The boys compete again Saturday at the Trojan Invitational in Whitmore Lake.
