Roughriders News · ROEPER BOOSTER CLUB – Meet Our New President!

We are pleased to welcome Gomer Smith
as our newest President of the Roeper Booster Club

Gomer knows that parent representatives on the Booster Club are vital to our success because they are a direct link to each team. Parent representatives are key as they provide direct insight into the needs of each team and how the Booster Club can support their team objectives. The Booster Club would also like to focus on growing total participation in each sport by encouraging students to try a sport, even if for the first time. Roeper supports students academically and athletically like no other school in the area.

Gomer and Julie are the parents of Maquire (10th) and Macy Smith (8th) who have been at Roeper for five years. Maquire and Macy can often be seen serving up popcorn and slushies at the concessions stand, as well as running cross country, track and playing basketball.

Gomer and his wife Julie have been married for 24 years and have an older daughter in college at Virginia Commonwealth University. Gomer is a die-hard Cleveland sports fan. He played basketball in college at Allegheny College and is a member of his Hall of Fame at Walsh Jesuit High School in football, basketball and track.

The Smith family comes to us from Pittsburgh, PA and many other cities in the Midwest.

WELCOME, GOMER!
