Roughriders News · Cross Country Finishes a Season to Remember

The 2020 Cross Country Season was a success. In a rebuilding year, the Roughriders runners pulled off some amazing accomplishments.  We hosted our first Varsity races in a tri-meet with Oakland Christian and Southfield Christian.  We were victorious in both face offs.  In our league we progressively got stronger in each matchup. In the first meet we placed 6th as a team, 2nd meet we placed 5th and in the final race we placed 4th. The team also won the Pre-Regional and placed 2nd in the Regional to qualify the entire team for the first time in school history to complete at the  State Finals. Individually, Will Hoover was MVP in our league 1st Team All-MIAC, winning two out of three league meets.  He also won the Regional, earning him a medal.  Van Saroukhanian also earned 1st Team All-MIAC and medaled at our Regional as a freshman. Huge accomplishment.  To take a closer look at individual accomplishments and personal records for our Girls and Boys Teams, please view athletic.net and search Roeper.  Congrats on a fantastic season.
